Welcome to our world: the world of “full Bible” Presbyterians. My name is Dr. Richard Bacon and I began the blog today (May 2nd, 2007), but I anticipate a number of regular guest bloggers to appear here. Among those guests, I anticipate will be Dr. Edwin Elliot, Rev. Brian Abshire, Dr. Robert LaMay, Rev. David Elmer, Dr. Alan Church, and others.
I am pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church (Reformed) in Mesquite, TX. We were formerly known as First Presbyterian Church of Rowlett and our website can be seen by clicking here. Last month I joined the Reformed Presbyterian Church (Hanover Presbytery), but I have been part of the same “full Bible” movement among Presbyterians for over ten years.
Basically, “full Bible” Presbyterians (or “Constitutional” Presbyterians) believe that we should do whatever the Bible says we should do and that God is as much interested in his Word in Deuteronomy and the Psalms as he is in Matthew and Colossians. We believe that the 1647 Westminster Confession of Faith and Larger and Shorter Catechisms give us a very good understanding of what the Bible says about the mind of God and, as a result, we have agreed to teach these standards within the context of regular Bible exposition.
The Reformed Presbyterian Church of Manassas, VA has a website here.
