Return From Burma

I returned from Union of Myanmar last Friday. It was certainly the most painful Burma trip thus far (my 11th). I broke my foot, as it turned out. I was in pain the last week I was there, hoping that the pain would simply go away on its own. So this week the podiatrist has me in a medieval torture boot for the next six to eight weeks. Each time I said “six,” the doctor added “to eight.”

I was in the pulpit on the Lord’s Day (March 23), but had not yet visited the doctor. I sat on a tall stool. I managed to hobble from place to place on a cane. Oh, and I will continue to sit for the next few weeks until there is some healing in my foot.

I took nearly six hours of HD video. I’ve since turned the video over to one of the young men in the church who know what to do with such things. Hopefully he will have a short (one hour or so) DVD with excerpts for me to take with me to Hanover Presbytery meeting next month.
